Last July 14, on a hot monday afternoon, we finally broke ground for the Greenbrier Bay project–our fourth home in the Wood Buffalo region. Among those who attended were MLA Don Scott, MP David Yurdiga and our partner family (Maneesh & Aakansha Shukla and their children). Despite the heat, everyone was very excited to get their shovels in the ground!
Our permit should be here any day and as initially planned, we are still aiming to have the house move in ready by Labour Day weekend. This is to ensure that our partner family’s son can start at his new school in September.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Nalco Champion, an Ecolab Company, for donating a generous amount of $7,500 into this project. As a relatively young organization in the Wood Buffalo community, we cannot emphasize enough how much we appreciate all the help and support from our donors, volunteers and community. There are different ways to get involved & support Habitat Wood Buffalo and we are always eager to get in touch with volunteers.
