Fort McMurray, AB — Habitat for Humanity Wood Buffalo are excited to announce the partner family for this year’s Greenbrier build: Mansoor Akhtar and Shumaila Mansoor, along with their daughter Zoha (7), and two sons Baber (7) and Muhammad (2).
Originating from Pakistan, the family has been living in Fort McMurray for almost 2 years now, and are planning long term residency as they are enjoying their time in the community. Mansoor is a steamfitter apprentice currently attending school, and is anxious to get going on his sweat equity contribution, willing to work 12-13 hours a day. Shumalia is a stay at home mother, and is taking English as a second language through Keyano College.
Currently residing in a small one bedroom apartment, the children are excited for a home with enough space for homework, and a yard to play in. The family is eager to be as involved as they can, and are excited to move into a larger space they can call home.
