Habitat for Humanity Wood Buffalo Invites Public to Ground Breaking Ceremony and Volunteer Pancake Brunch! Fort McMurray, AB — As the snow is finally starting to melt and the weather gets warmer, Habitat for Humanity Wood Buffalo (HFHWB) are gearing up for another exciting season of building.  Construction on their 5th home for the latest partner family is set to begin in early May. To kick off the project, HFHWB will be hosting a Ground Breaking Ceremony.  This official ceremony will be held on Saturday, April 9th, 2016 at the 7415 Railway Avenue plot, from 11:00am to 11:30am. The Ground Breaking Ceremony will be followed by a Pancake Brunch from 11:30am to 1:30pm at the Legion Branch 165 located at 9317 Huggard Street.  Information will be available about ways to get involved with the build and other Habitat events, including the inaugural Playhouse Build-Off and Auction Event scheduled for late May.  The HFHWB online sign-up scheduler for build volunteers will be launched at the brunch as well. The brunch marks the start of National Volunteer Week (April 10th to 16th, 2016). Tickets to the brunch are free and can be ordered on Eventbrite or through the HFHWB website; www.habitatwoodbuffalo.ca.  The public is welcome to attend both events, as this is a great opportunity to see what HFHWB is all about, and how they impact the community.
