A Restore is store where new and gently-used building materials and select furniture items are donated. These materials are then sold to the general public at discounted rates. Generated revenue covers Habitat for Humanity operational costs, so donations raised to go directly to providing affordable home ownership opportunities for hard-working, low-income families.
Restores reduce the amount of good building material and furniture to hit the landfill, while providing low cost purchasing options for our community. All the while, Restores are providing financial stability and sustainability to Habitat programming.
The Restore Start-Up Committee will: 1) conduct a feasibility study to determine the best type of Restore operation for our community, 2) seek out possible locations, 3) build the business plan and 4) assist with the implementation of the business plan for the selected model.
If you are interested in participating in this exciting initiative, please join us at the first Restore Start-Up Committee Meeting. Meeting will be held:
Please RSVP or direct questions to email@example.com or Crystal at 780-804-1311.
Habitat for Humanity Wood Buffalo is committed to a safe work environment for all of our build site volunteers and employees. To that end, we provide Safety Orientations for all of our build site volunteers and staff. These orientations ensure that everyone:
* understands the hazards that may be present on a build site
* understands safe work practices that mitigate these hazards
* is familiar with the safety rules in place on the build site
We have scheduled evening Safety Orientations once a week for volunteers that are new to the build site. These Orientations take place on Thursday evenings at the Redpoll Centre in Shell Place at Mac Island.
